News from the Office

November 18, 2011

Thank You
Thanks to the ten members anmd twelve co-op kids who participated in the Fall Cleanup on Sunday, October 23rd.

Mark your calendars: 2012 Beechwood Co-op Annual General Meeting
The co-op's 2012 Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday, February 16 at 7:00pm.  We look forward to seeing you there.  If you sometimes work evenings, please book the time off far enough in advance so that you can attend.

Security Deposit Adjustments
November 1st marks the start of our new fiscal year.  That means that Securitty Deposits are adjusted to reflect your current Housing Charge.  If there was no change in your Security Deposit, you don't have to worry about this.  But, any member whose Security Deposit was adjusted received notice of this change last week.  If you owe money, please pay it now.  If you have a credit, you can adjust your December payment accordingly.

Contents Insurance

Some members are not in compliance with the bylaw requiring them to sho evidence that they have contents insurance.  In some cases, those members may not have insurance.  In other cases, they may simply need to provide documentation proving that they do.  Either way, please contact the office if you have not yet compied.  We have information about an affordable contents insurance package from The Co-operators.

Paying by Pre-Authorized Debit

So far, seven households have set up a monthly pre-authorized debit to pay their Housing Charges.  A form was distributed with the last NFTO (and additional copies are available in the office).  Complete that form and return it to the co-op office along with a voided cheque.  There is no charge at our end for this service, but you should check with your own financial institution to see if there is any charge to you.  This is a good option if your Housing Charge doesn't change from month to month and for those who do not frequently need to defer their Housing Charge payment.  Our Credit Union needs at least five business day's notice of any change (stopping or modifying payment), so please don't sign up if you cannot handle that requirement.

Changes in Parking Policy

All spaces available to members have now been booked.  Any further requests for a designated space will be placed on a waiting list.  We've taken notes on who has been warned; future violoation will lead to tickets (at $25.00 per infraction).  Note that the co-op receives no revenue for tickets that it issues on behalf of the city of Waterloo.  As well, once tickets are submitted to City Hall, they cannmot be reversed by the Co-op.
